BAL 7598. Wright I, 1143. Clark A 15.1.a1 (cloth), first printing. Clark identifies three states of printing on the basis of type batter; our copy is in the earliest states. On page 119 Clark displays a photograph containing six different binding formats; ours, with a leather label, is not among them. Our binding is certainly contemporary, with the definite look of a publisher's binding.
