    The chief source for Law, the founder of the United States Mail Steamship Company and, in 1855, the Know-Nothing party's candidate for president from Pennsylvania. When Fillmore received the nomination Law supported Fremont, and attacked the former in two widely circulated "North American" letters. See DAB.
