With a fine engraving of Leary's bookstore on the front wrapper (without the wrapper there is no title). Advertisements for historical works by Charles J. Peterson and John Frost, apparently first editions, would call for the date of 1848 or 1849. A venerable store, Leary's was founded in 1836. Leary is not in Romaine.
