Contents leaves with short tears and remargined. Text very clean and sound. $1,250.00 NUC records two copies of an 1839 edition, but the preface in our edition is 1841. Bridgman was the editor of The Chinese Repository,, 1832-51 (vol. 1-20). Includes chapters on the study of Chinese, on the human body, on kindred relations, articles of food and furniture, commercial and mechanical affairs, architecture, agriculture, mathematics, archery, music, geography, mineralogy, botany, zoology, medicine and government. |
